Robot combat, what’s that?
Robot combat is a competitive engineering challenge in which teams battle by piloting custom designed robots with the goal of incapacitating their opponent. Starting in the 1990’s, these (mainly) remote controlled robots have gathered the attention of the world throughout numerous television shows and competitions. Nowadays with the availability of cheaper electronics it is an approachable hobby for all ages to tune their critical thinking and learn STEM in a hands-on approach. Competitors for this event will be fighting using 3lb robots in a swiss system style tournament. Additionally, if time allows grudge matches will be allowed and encouraged.
